I turn complex business problems into practical software and AI systems.

I’m Jaun-Paul Stevenson, a product-minded full-stack developer and founder of EdgeWorks. I design and build AI-assisted workflows, operational platforms, customer tools, and integrations—from the first messy conversation to a system people can use.

How I approach the work

More than code.
I build the system around the problem.

The most valuable software projects rarely begin with a perfect specification. They begin with scattered data, manual work, inconsistent decisions, and important knowledge held in a few people’s heads.

I work across product thinking, systems architecture, full-stack development, automation, and AI to make those environments easier to operate. My goal is simple: create software that reduces friction, improves decisions, and earns its place in the business.

What I do

From ambiguity to adoption.

AI systems & assisted workflows

Product discovery, sales guidance, content generation, enrichment, and decision support. Useful context, structured data, clear rules, human review, and feedback.

Full-stack product engineering

Production applications and internal platforms, from architecture and data models to interfaces, APIs, deployment, and ongoing improvement.

Operations, automation & integration

Understanding how work happens, simplifying the process, and connecting the systems around it—including the reliability work that makes software useful every day.

Product & systems leadership

Turning an unclear opportunity into a buildable product, choosing a sensible first release, and aligning engineering decisions with commercial value.

AI-assisted product intelligence & quoting

Turning inconsistent product data and expert knowledge into a more useful sales workflow. A governed knowledge layer normalizes records, attributes, and aliases, with AI-assisted search and ranking to help salespeople interpret imperfect customer requests.

People stay in control: sales staff review recommendations and improve the underlying knowledge through their corrections. The system is designed to make quoting faster and more consistent.

My contribution

Product architecture, data modeling, AI workflow design, full-stack development, search and ranking, and sales-process design.

AI-native campaign platform

A platform for creating, publishing, measuring, and improving campaigns. AI creates the presentation layer; the platform provides artifact storage, previews, version history, rollback, analytics, attribution, forms, and leads.

The architecture turns AI-generated pages into managed business assets with consistent behavior and measurement.

My contribution

Product architecture, full-stack development, AI workflow design, publishing architecture, analytics, attribution, and platform integration.

Fiscalization & transaction workflows

Making a complex regulatory workflow understandable and auditable, from taxpayer onboarding and device activation to certificate handling, transaction submission, and error recovery.

The central challenge is helping operators see what has happened, what comes next, and how to recover when an external service interrupts a transaction.

My contribution

Systems architecture, workflow and state design, integration logic, administration tooling, error handling, and product development.

A connected digital operations roadmap

Designing an operational environment for a professional-kitchen technology business, spanning customer relationships, product and service information, sales processes, and internal workflows.

The work maps where information moves and effort is duplicated, creating a practical foundation for phased digital transformation.

My contribution

Discovery, process analysis, requirements design, systems architecture, and automation planning. Identifying which capabilities belong in CRM, ERP, custom software, or automation.

A connected membership & booking experience

Connecting a customer-facing membership site to an established fitness platform. The booking flow carries an authenticated customer through availability and reservation, then returns a clear result.

Server-side integration services connect the customer journey to the underlying booking system without exposing its complexity.

My contribution

Integration architecture, authentication flow, data and server-side functions, booking interface, and API development.

SvelteKit MVC Design Pattern

An open-source architecture for keeping growing SvelteKit applications understandable. It establishes boundaries between external services, controllers, request and response models, data-transfer objects, and presentation components.

The pattern grew from organizing larger applications so multiple developers can work together without business logic leaking into every route.

The Edge Works (Pty) Ltd

Run smoother. Sell faster.

I founded EdgeWorks to help growth-minded companies remove operational friction and build systems that scale. We combine process diagnosis, custom software, automation, and AI-assisted sales to make businesses easier to run and easier to buy from.

Clients can engage EdgeWorks for scoped delivery or a longer systems partnership. If you’re hiring for a role, you can reach me directly below.

Open source & writing

Building patterns, not just products.

I care about the decisions that keep software understandable as it grows. I co-authored the open-source SvelteKit MVC Design Pattern to document an architecture we developed for larger, integration-heavy applications.

I’m now writing a practical book about design patterns for SvelteKit: structuring real applications around domains, services, data contracts, workflows, and maintainable boundaries—especially as teams and AI coding agents contribute to the same codebase.

About me

A technical career shaped by running real things.

I’m a South African-born product developer, systems thinker, and entrepreneur based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My route into technology was not a straight line.

I spent a decade living and working in Thailand. I taught web design, English, and business communication; managed an education company with an 11-person team and more than 500 active students; helped build a hostel and café; and founded and operated a vehicle-finance business.

Running organizations changed how I think about software. A technically elegant system can still fail if it ignores the people doing the work, the exceptions they handle, the data they trust, or the commercial result that matters. I learned to begin with the operation.

Alongside that work, I co-founded Kreonovo and spent a decade building web applications, APIs, dashboards, and integrations for clients. I completed that chapter in 2024. Standard Car Buying Solution concluded operations at the end of 2025, and I turned my focus fully toward AI-enabled product and systems development through EdgeWorks.

In 2026, I relocated to the United States. I bring experience spanning development, teaching, management, entrepreneurship, and client delivery to teams solving complex operational problems.
